COPE Rescue is no-kill, all volunteer, not-for-profit animal shelter established in 2003 in Joliet, Illinois. COPE is committed to rescuing abandoned and/or injured pets who are in need of forever homes. COPE is also dedicated to spaying and neutering as many cats as possible, providing the care for colonies of feral cats, removing non-feral strays from the streets and placing them into our adoption program whenever possible.
COPE is 100% volunteer managed and operated, and all funds provided for the animals go toward the medical care, spay and neutering and daily care until the pet is adopted into a forever family.

Donate:
COPE Animal Rescue depends on donations from caring individuals like you in order to provide the care, medical attention, and spay/neuters for the animals that come our way. Our adoption fee just does not stretch that far. It costs alot of money to provide the much needed care these homeless pets needs.

In three minutes this dog
could be dead from heatstroke.
Your car can be an oven. Every year, hundreds of beloved canine companions die in parked cars from heatstroke while their guardians leave them, often for "just a few minutes".
Warm days can be fatal, when the car's interior, even with windows left slightly open, can soar to 102 degrees in just 10 minutes, and reach 120 degrees in just a half an hour. On hotter days, the temperature rises perilously high.
A Stanford University test found that even if it's only 72 degrees outside, a car's internal temperature could rocket to 116 degrees within an hour.
Dogs can withstand a body temperature of 107 to 108 degrees for only a short time before succumbing to heatstroke, often resulting in brain damage, or even death.
Leave your dog at home on warm days.
